Obama Rocks McCain

ObamaOn Friday, September 26th, 2008 the first presedential debate occurred for the 2008 election cycle. Obama spoke directly, clearly and didn’t repeat himself or liberal talking points. He was clear, concise and did simply repeat trite vitriol from his campaign commercials. Obama addressed the moderator’s questions and gave cognizant responses to McCain when necessary.

McCain was easily flustered and appeared to be on the verge of rage several times. He was belligerent and during the debate he didn’t look at Obama even one time. He spoke over both Obama and the moderator. His responses were usually clear, but some of them simply didn’t follow the questions.

Recent polls are showing Obama pulling ahead in key states. After Obama’s performance in tonight’s debate he should start to pull ahead in all states.

McCain’s lame campaign thrives on fear of taxes and terror. In the words of George W. Bush, “Fool me once, shame on. Shame on you. Fool me. You can’t get fooled again.

Bush fooled us twice. We’re not going to get fooled again. Drop out McCain, you’re rhetoric is tired and expired.

McCain Weaseling

We haven’t even had the election yet and McCain is trying to get out of doing his job. Right now, that means giving voters a close-up look at the kind of person he is. McCain is claiming he is going to cease campaigning, postpone the debate, and head to Washington, DC to help fix the problem. A concept he doesn’t fully grasp.

Here’s the problem: McCain’s deregulation push allowed banks to privatize investments. Without government oversight Republicans ran wild with my money, your money, and their investor’s money. Republicans casually threw around billions of dollars with no plan, and now they are proposing to use $700,000,000,000 (that’s BILLION) of taxpayer money to bailout the very system they rabidly created.

My 401k has lost 12% this year. If things continue they way they are with free-wheeling Republicans spending my money on wars, coke and prostitutes then the only thing that will be certain is I won’t have a penny for retirement in 2035.

Bill Clinton outlined our economic situation last night on The Daily Show:

Bill Clinton explores this election more fully, endorses Barack Obama and outlines Obama’s keys to victory:

We need independent and undecided voters to rally to the President who will work for you, not for Republican special interests. We need to get everyone we know to vote for Barack Obama. There’s no doubt that McCain is not the answer. McCain will only bring more troubles to the middle-class, period. You just can’t trust a guy who doesn’t know how many houses he owns and thinks middle class Americans make just under $5 million a year.

Endorsing Reform

Vote for Obama/BidenOn this historic day in America, a lot of folks will reflect on where we have come in the past seven years. They will ponder lost love ones and how we will leave the world to loved ones yet to be born. This is an election year, and folks will be wondering who the next President will be. Will it be Barack Obama? Will it be John McCain? In this election, experience is being discussed at great length. Who has it, who doesn’t. The problem is that folks are focusing on the wrong experiences.

In this election, it’s not about which candidate does or does not have the best suits, or the best contacts or job history. This election is not about candidate experience at all.

The person whose experience matters most is: YOU.

What has the last eight years brought you and your family?

Are you worried about fuel prices? Has your house dropped in value? Can you afford to pay your bills? Do you have any money left to do anything else? Before 9/11, were you at risk for a terrorist attack? Are you or your family at risk for a terrorist attack now? Is the Global War on Terror making your world more or less safe? Does it matter if people in other countries love or despise Americans? Does killing people in other countries really make you more safe?

In the last eight years has your employer started sending jobs to other countries? What happens if we bomb countries where your jobs are being sent? Do people in other countries care if the job they have has put an American out of work?

Do you purchase goods that are not made in America? Do you love your country? Will electing a Republican REALLY bring change to Washington, DC? Is a longtime Washington insider REALLY going to reform ANYTHING?

This historic election will guarantee one thing: white men will finally lose the stranglehold of power in our country that they have been holding for over two-hundred years.

I am endorsing and voting for Barack Obama. If you want real reform and real change that will bring good experiences for YOU AND your FAMILY and not for the exclusive Republican elites in Washington, then you will vote for Barack Obama.

McCain shoved a woman in a wheelchair.

Via the Huffington Post, here’s an amusing story involving McCain’s legendary temper and a woman in a wheelchair. The alleged incident happened in 1996, which makes the news kind of old but no less hilarious.

Six people present have written statements describing what they saw. According to the accounts, McCain waved his hand to shoo away Jeannette Jenkins, whose cousin was last seen in South Vietnam in 1970, causing her to hit a wall.

As McCain continued walking, Jane Duke Gaylor, the mother of another missing serviceman, approached the senator. Gaylor, in a wheelchair equipped with portable oxygen, stretched her arms toward McCain.

“McCain stopped, glared at her, raised his left arm ready to strike her, composed himself and pushed the wheelchair away from him,” according to Eleanor Apodaca, the sister of an Air Force captain missing since 1967.

RNC coverage is everywhere in St. Paul this week. Marc Ambinder has posted the full transcript, I have highlighted some excerpts - along with what Todd actually said as opposed to what Ambinder posted.

“Is this really the most qualified woman they could have turned to?” -Chuck Todd

“Most qualified? NO. I think they went for this, excuse me, political bullshit about narratives.” -Peggy Noonan

“You know what’s really the worst thing about it? The greatness of McCain is ‘no cynicism’ and this is cynical.” - Mike Murphy
