How does one define “unintended consequences”? How about the above story and the Iran/UK hostage situation?
Iraq is officially the worse foreign policy disaster in the history of the United States. Can anyone think of a worse one?

maybe the CIA removing a democratically elected leader in panama and replacing him with noriega. then turning around a few years later and trying to assassinate him,failing and just invading the country. to me that is one huge clusterfuck of mistakes.

i was just on wiki doing a little fact checking on my previous comment and i thought you might be interested to know noriega’s projected release date from prison is sept.9th 2007. currently Panama’s National Assembly is trying to pass legislation that would make him a free man in Panama if released. this in spite of the fact a panama court found guilty of murder in absentia in 1995.
