One of YouTube’s First Videos?
Someone posted a link to a snapshot of YouTube from April 28, 2005 on digg.com tonight and I started doing a little research. I did find it interesting that the snapshot makes it appear that YouTube was originally going to be a dating site. Makes sense, I guess. Anyway, a little more digging around revealed four videos that were posted on April 24, 2005 by the user BootieChrist.
All right, first off, videos the person uploaded suck. They are bad. But what is interesting to note is the Web site was registered on Feburary 15, 2005 and according to its Wikipedia entry, the site was given a public preview in May 2005 and was worked on for an additional six months before really being launced. That means a video uploaded on April 24, 2005 must have been extremely early in the development of the Web site.
I don’t know, I find history interesting so I find this interesting.
I present one of the earliest videos to be uploaded to YouTube. Twenty months, millions of page views and $1.65 billion dollars later, not much has changed. People are still uploading a lot of lame videos. Can anyone find an earlier one?

In other news…an informal poll of 8n5ers at Junkgui’s apartment on Wednesday has determined that Czech Air performs “Vanity Searches” on YouTube for people that most resemble Czech Air.
Czech Air then posts those videos to 8n5.
