Best Bar in America!

In the October 2006 issue, Esquire magazine has named the “Best bar in America” - and it is Nye’s Polonaise Room.   Nye’s is in Nordeast and has been there forever.    KSTP covered the story in May of this year, but I don’t think they really expected this throw-back to the 50s to actually win the title of “Best Bar in America”.  Chris Jones captures Nye’s perfectly:

“Everybody says that stepping into Nye’s Polonaise is like stepping back in time, and, for once, it’s true.”

I have been to this bar with some fellow EightAndFivers and I think we should go again soon.  And one more thing…Nye’s is the ONLY 5-Star rating awarded by yours truly in last year’s Minneapolis Bar Review posting!
