e-mail Pat Roberts today
Pat Roberts heads the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence and is in charge of the committee that just passed its deadline to report on the administration’s use of pre-war intelligence. Conveniently enough we won’t hear about phase two until after the election. I encourage everybody to e-mail him and demand they submit the report which he said himself would come out now about a week ago.
Email Pat Roberts here and demand he stand by his word and give us the phase II report.
Monopoly Teaching our Kids….
Monopoly Teaching our Kids…. nothing useful now that they’re doing away with money and going to a Visa branded credit card device. I may be more likely to play it, but this was an educational game… I suppose it teaches our kids to be real Americans… I wonder if it lets you keep spending when you run out of money or put your houses/hotels on an interest-only mortgage payment?
National Geographic - Judas!
The Gospel of Judas is a recently translated and published discovery detailing a different account of the last days of Jesus. It is an account that is in direct contrast to what is commonly considered to be the accepted stories of the crucifixion of Jesus.
In 180 A.D. Irenaeus’ Adversus haereses (Against Heresies) sought to suppress and destory all known copies of the Gospel of Judas and any other works of the Gnostics. Ironically, Irenaeus’ written records of the search for and the destruction of the Gospel of Judas are part of the rationale that the National Geographic researchers used as evidence that this was in fact a “lost” Gospel of Judas.
Things that are strikingly different to commonly accepted beliefs of Christianity include:Â
1. Judas helped fulfill Jesus’ wishes and final passage to the afterlife,
2. Judas was the only disciple, as determined by Jesus, who would reach the immortal realm beyond what humanity can comprehend.
3. The “God†worshipped by all of Christianity is actually named “Nebroâ€, or “Rebel†and he is a minor, petty god – which is why there is such widespread chaos and destruction in the world.
4. Most people on earth do not have souls and will just die. The only people whose souls will survive death are those who understand and are aware of the immortal realm.
So we have a lost Gospel in which Jesus openly laughs at his disciples for their ignorance and their worship of a false god, he repeatedly tells them they are all doomed, and even the one disciple (Judas) who attempts to truly understand Jesus is forced to look away when he attempts to stand before him in strength.
It’s really no surprise that Irenaeus wanted a Gospel like this suppressed. How could the church explain something that contradicts what they want the world to believe? Indeed, how can the church explain anything that is contradictory to Christian beliefs?
How can one claim to belong to a religion of peace, yet support war? How can one claim to belong to a religion that is moral and just, yet molests children? How can a religion demand freedom of expression and protections from governments, yet suppress ideas that conflict with their “standard†teachings?
The one thing that the Gospel of Judas really teaches us is that Christianity has been suppressing contradictory religious ideologies since the days of Jesus.
The Big F*cking Lebowski
Did you know that The Big Lebowski cast utters the F-word (or a variation on it) 281 times in 117 minutes?
Need proof? Check out the clip below. If you are in a public area, you may want to put on headphones. Better yet, just wait until you are at home to watch this one.
I present to you…

My Summer Vacation, eh?
If you like vacations as much as I do, then I highly recommend Banff National Park in Alberta, Canada. Banff has it all. It is nestled in the Canadian Rocky Mountains and is just a short drive from Calgary, Alberta.
Our week in Alberta began in Canmore.  We stayed at the Lodges at Canmore which is a fairly pricey lodge unit with laundry facilities and a full kitchen.  We saved a lot of money by cooking in our lodge apartment for four days.  There is an awesome view of the Three Sisters Mountain range right outside your room – and fortunately we were on the correct side of the building for a perfect view of the Three Sisters.
Our week took us to Banff National Park where we did the Johnston Canyon hike to the Lower and Upper Falls. Â The ink-pots were 4k and we almost attempted it, but figured that a 4k hike back from the ink-pots may have just taken too long (or killed us).
We rode the Banff Gondola to the top of Sulphur Mountain and we basked in the Sulphur Mountain Hot Springs.  For lunch that day, we dined like rock stars at the Fremont Hotel in Banff.  The only more impressive than the price of the buffet lunch was our view. The food served for the buffet was definitely the highest quality of any food I have ever seen in a buffet – and was better than most restaurants in which I have dined. Modern-day fairy tale
Seems there was some good LSD floating around Boulder, Col., last weekend. This scene would have been extremely funny to witness…
From the ARTICLE
Witnesses told police that Hibbs and Bradley Boville, 19, were demanding $1 from joggers and bikers who attempted to cross the bridge.
The off-duty deputy, who was not identified, told police the confrontation with Hibbs started after the man hit his bike with a broken golf club when he forced his way past without paying. The two became involved in an altercation and Hibbs hit the deputy with a golf club, the police report stated. The deputy said he took the golf club away from Hibbs and struck him in an attempt to defend himself.
Boville, who was with Hibbs, reportedly told police that they had consumed LSD and that Hibbs was having a bad trip.
Bad trip? Sounds like a pretty good trip if you ask me. The question is, however, was it raining fire?
Update: HERE is another article with more information.
Jandek
For about four years I have followed the strange world of the musician named Jandek. Has anyone heard of him? He is definitely on the far end of the “weird” spectrum. His music is hard to describe and I probably wouldn’t be able to really explain why I like it if pressed. Perhaps it is the weird combo of shattered rhythm, disassociated lyrics and the mystery surrounding this blue collar machinist from Texas making some of the most mysterious music I’ve ever come across.
In 2003, a documentary named “Jandek on Corwood” was released and it tried to shed some light on Jandek. It did for the most part, but he still seemed out of reach. That was fine by me as I feel the less mystery around him, the less appeal he’d probably have. Maybe that is why I like his stuff, it is the fact that he is so “underground” and so out of reach.
