Are you walking boots?

I never thought Jessica Simpson would take a political stand, one way or the other.  This may even justify purchasing “The Dukes of Hazzard” on DVD…which I would do if I hadn’t already gotten it for Christmas.

Maybe I will start giving it to people for Birthdays and other occasions.

In any event, it was funny to see the comparison to Bono who doesn’t have a problem attending fundraisers as long as he gets to inject his political rants somewhere along the way.

If you had the opportunity to have a national or global stage, what would be your message?

  1. Her cause is “operation smile” which provides plastic surgery to kids who need it but can’t afford it. It almost assuredly is a noble cause, but the idea of plastic surgery for the third world being championed by Jessica Simpson is really… well… kind of funny.

I’m still glad she isn’t meeting with the president. As far as a star to represent for my cause? I say: Brenna Jones and the cause is “Operation Wolfen” which provides adoption for children who are werewolves from third world countries. Kind of like the ex-race dog adoption programs.

PS this comment to be categorized under “Brenna baiting”

  2. Simpson is currently featured wearing cowboy boots and hot pants in a TV pizza ad.

    Awesome.

How much does it cost to have Jessica Simpson as your lobbyist? I only ask because I really have a hard time believing that this walking vapor trail would have any thought trees that led her to stumping for a charity. Which is not to say that her publicist didn’t put her up to it.

  3. We had a volunteer nurse come speak to our Kiwanis group about a mercy ship program that she took part in that provided cleft pallet surgeries to children in Latin American countries. These patients were rejected and ostracized by their communities due to their disfiguration. It looks like Operation Smile is working towards a similar goal.

Bottom line: good for her for telling the President if he wants to talk about Operation Smile - they can set up a time outside of a political fundraiser. The NRCC spokesperson who was “shocked” by her decision is caught up in the alternate reality of the beltway - a place where everyone seemingly whores themself for political access.
