The Houston Chronicle has maintained an Enron “Special Report” section since the scandal played out in the media. It’s a well constructed archive and reading it over gives one a wide overview of just how deep the scandals ran in that company.
With the trial under way, I thought the EightAndFivers and any other readers might appreciate a searchable Enron e-mail archive hosted at Berkeley: Try fun terms like: Republican, President, or Fox News…just for the heck of it.
I wish the jury could send them to the electric chair.

Has anyone seen last year’s documentary, Enron: The Smartest Guys in the Room? It’s supposed to be good, and I keep meaning to rent it.
Yeah, the doc is killer and should be seen by everybody. It shows what occurs when the goal of making money becomes making more money. It’s unfortunate that our government seems to be falling into similar traps that corporations like Enron have fallen into. The more I learn about corporations, the less I like them. I think that decorporatization could be a good thing, but I suspect it may be unnecessary. For them to exist in a less evil manifestation of their current selves, we must get them out of government. The way to do this is publicly-financed-campaigns and I would vote for a republican if she could get this done (note I said she–I’d only vote for a female republican or a gay one(but he would have to be openly gay)).
I just finnished playing with the search engine and it is fascinating… some other fun terms: sex, abramoff
